General Counsel

M^0 is seeking a General Counsel who will play a fundamental role in shaping the future of our organization. As General Counsel, you will report directly to our CEO and President, and lead legal and regulatory strategy and execution across all aspects of our business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience navigating regulatory and corporate legal issues in fintech or financial services. A deep understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape for crypto assets and stablecoins is highly preferred.

• Manage and lead all legal aspects of our business, including compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

• Advise the executive team on potential legal and regulatory risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

• Oversee and manage relationships with outside counsel and other relevant service providers.

• Provide  senior  legal  guidance  to  the  other  main  actors  of  the  M^0  ecosystem, including:  M^0  LabsCo,  Minters,  SPV Operators, Validators, etc.

• Design and draft partnership agreements and commercial contracts that foster the growth of the M^0 ecosystem.

• Become a leading voice for the  M^0 ecosystem, publishing opinions on matters like regulation, legal frameworks, compliance, and more.

• Work proactively to identify potential opportunities from a regulatory, business, and/or product perspective.

• Juris Doctor (JD) or law degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in good standing.

• 8+ years of experience as a practicing lawyer, preferable with proven experiences in payments, fintech, cryptocurrencies, DeFi, stablecoins or financial services or technology

• Strong commercial drafting skills and the ability to craft agreements that protect the company's interests while fostering mutually beneficial relationships.

• Experience in cross-border legal matters and an understanding of the challenges associated with global operations.

• Proactive problem solver: You have a forward-thinking mindset, actively identifies opportunities for improvement, and takes decisive action to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
